TEENS BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU CLASSES (AGES 12–17)
A SUPPORTIVE, SAFE INTRODUCTION TO GRAPPLING FOR TEENAGERS IN PRESTON, CHORLEY, SOUTH RIBBLE & BEYOND.
At The Grappling Society, we know how much confidence, discipline, and fun jiu-jitsu can offer young people—and we’re passionate about helping teens find that out for themselves.
Our teens Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes are designed specifically for ages 12–17, and are a great way for young athletes to build confidence, stay active, and learn valuable self-defence skills in a welcoming environment.
We follow the same structure and syllabus as our adult Foundation class—just adapted for a younger crowd. That means no boring drills or endless repetitions. Instead, we explore the core pillars of grappling (wrestling, guard work, passing, and back control) through games, scenarios and live problem-solving.
These sessions are open to all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced young grapplers. Whether your teen is looking for a new hobby, an outlet for energy, or a path into competitive sport, they’ll find a home here.

WHY BJJ FOR TEENS?
GROW ON AND OFF THE MAT.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a dynamic, non‑striking martial art that not only delivers a full-body workout- building strength, coordination, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness, but also fosters mental resilience in a safe, supportive setting.
-
Emotional resilience & stress relief: BJJ helps teens manage stress and anxiety through physical activity, boosting mood with natural endorphin release and teaching emotional regulation under pressure.
-
Focus, problem-solving & discipline: Thanks to its strategic, chess-like nature, jiu-jitsu improves concentration and teaches teens how to think ahead- a valuable skill both on the mats and in life.
-
Confidence & self-esteem: As they master moves and progress, teens gain visible achievements that translate to higher confidence and improved self-image.
-
Social skills & community: BJJ offers a peer environment rooted in teamwork, leadership, and respect, helping teens feel included and build positive connections.
-
Long-term health & wellbeing: Ongoing training supports physical fitness, emotional regulation, and reduced risk-taking behaviours, setting teens up for healthier futures.
At The Grappling Society, we’re passionate about growing the sport and creating a training environment where teens can challenge themselves, build real self-belief, and grow into more confident, capable young adults.
